I am one day closer to freedom. One day closer to being home. I just need to rest, there’s nothing more I can do. I spoke to Cathie some more. She shared openly with me. She just got out of jail three months ago. The prostitution and drug charge violates her community control probation. She is certain it will be revoked and will be faced with back-to-back sentences. She knows how it works. She has been coming to jail on and off since she was 15. More on than off, sad to say. This afternoon in service the girls spurred me on to sing. I sang, “God bless the child” by Shania Twain and “We’ve been waiting for you” By Carolyn Arrends. Tonight our butch C.O. made those who didn’t lock their locks run 5 laps around the dorm. Naturally I participated.
