With all his might, James cast his line out into the murky green water. Casey did the same, but his line did not reach out as far as his younger brother's. "Hey, how did you do that?" Casey asked.
"It's all in the wrist," James said proudly. They both secretly wondered who would get the first catch of the day. To pass the time, they shared silly stories and told funny jokes they had learned from friends at school.
The boys had been fishing for hours without a single bite when James decided he would try to catch fish with his net. He waved it under the surface of the water until he felt something tugging, almost pulling the net from his grip. He wrapped both of his hands tightly around the net and lifted it out of the water.

About the Author
Author Trish Smith is educated in child development. She began working for the school district in 2006 after being a stay at home mom during her boys beginning years. She and her husband have been foster parents and have hosted a foreign exchange student a few times as well. Trish is dedicated to her service as a facilitator in the early childhood department at the church her family attends. Trish resides in Southern California with her husband, two sons, two dogs, and her cat.
