Obedience

Woolly Lamb and Billy the kid are best friends. They awoke each morning nestled in their warm straw beds located in the corner of the large red barn filled with cattle and sheep. the barn provided warmth and security to all of the animals who lived on the farm and possessed the welcoming aroma of wood and hay. Woolly and Billy anxiously welcomed each morning with excitement and anticipation as a new day of adventure awaited them. Woolly and Billy were always up to something, they were very busy. Sometimes they got into trouble, but they were good kids and everything always seemed to work out okay. One day, the good shepherd told Woolly and Billy they could play anywhere in the yard except behind the barn. " May we play anywhere?" asked woolly. "Anywhere except behind the barn." replied the good shepherd. "May we play in the chicken pin?" asked Billy. "Yes, you may play in the chicken pin." " you may play anywhere except behind the barn." replied the good shepherd." " May we play in the water trough?" asked Billy. "Yes, you may play in the water trough." " You may play anywhere except behind the barn, replied the good shepherd. Off ran Woolly and Billy jumping and leaping with joy. they were overjoyed that they had permission to do as they liked. They had complete run of the yard to do as they pleased, except play behind the barn.
