I had become an addict. Not only were the pills killing me physically but they were also killing me socially, emotionally and spiritually. I did not exist anymore. It was hard for me to even remember who I use to be. Do you know what that’s like? Do you know what it feels like to wake up one day and be gone mentally? I guess it would be similar to having an out of body experience. Some people claim to have had them in times of near death experiences. From what I’ve read this usually is an isolated incident and feeling. Almost like a dream that you just woke up from. Well, for me the dream lasted for days, for weeks for months. At times, I doubted that I would ever wake up from it.

About the Book
The purpose of writing this book is to bring awareness to the epidemic of obesity. I do not want anyone to go though what I have endured, being obese a majority of my life. As a result of not knowing proper nutrition growing up and into my late teenage years, I was faced with making the life-changing decision to have gastric bypass surgery, because traditional weight-loss methods such as strict dieting and exercise did not work for me.
About the Author
Lynette Ruffin Goode lives in Richmond, Virginia with her husband and daughter. She is a Motivational Speaker the Founder and CEO of a nonprofit 501-(3)c organization called DEON Intervention Incorporated, which stands for Drugs, Education, Obesity and Nutrition. She has several degrees which include a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, an Associate’s Degree in Human Services and she has Substance Abuse certification.
