The story of the “Samaritan Woman by the Well” did not take place near an ocean, river, pond, or sea, but she was standing near water when she met Jesus. And, being a woman, I cannot pass this story by... Jesus reached out to the Woman at the Well, a person who was disregarded in her society. This divine appointment totally changed her life. Today may be that day for you. Jesus is still asking, “Is anyone thirsty for the water that only I can give?” This water cleans, purifies, heals, gives life and satisfies our souls. The good news is that it does not have to be a one-time occurrence. We can drink daily from the Well of Life by spending time in His Word and in prayer and becoming a part of the bigger picture of God’s Harvest.

About the Book
After leading a Bible study one summer on the shores of Lake Erie about the events that occurred when Jesus was by water, Candy Porostosky decided to share her teachings, notes, and lessons so that others may also have the opportunity to purify, heal, and give life to their souls.
Within a unique collection of encounters with Jesus by the water tailored for either Bible study groups or as a personal devotional, Porostosky intertwines scriptures with personal observations, based on years of Bible study and prayer. She invites spiritual seekers to spend time reflecting on God’s Word and in prayer in order to understand what the Holy Spirit is saying to each of us. Her encounters include the baptism of Jesus, the calling of the disciples, the woman at the well, the parables, and lessons in the storm and by the sea of Tiberius.
Encounters with Jesus by the Water is a refreshing Bible study that shares scriptures and personal observations that encourage believers to grow in their faith, either individually or together with a group.
About the Author
Candy Porostosky was raised in a pastor’s home and attended bible college immediately after high school. She has served in ministry in a variety of ways throughout the years, mostly in the area of music, but also in leadership positions in children’s and youth ministry and as an ordained pastor. Currently, Candy is serving as the Pastor/Director of Music in two sister congregations in Madison, Ohio.
