Seeing that it was close to nap time, Gran’Ma carried Maurie and T-Bear to her quiet place, a soft rocking chair in her bedroom. There she sat, gently rocking the two of them. She loved their quiet time together and cuddled Maurie as they talked. “You also have to keep babies warm,” she went on. “They like to snuggle down into blankets and be held really close to your body.” Maurie also enjoyed their quiet time, and as he sat in Gran’Ma’s lap, he nestled his small face underneath her cozy chin.
“Gran’Ma?” questioned Maurie softly, “When Mannie comes home, will you love me still?”
“Yes, Maurie-dear, most definitely, I will!”
“Gran’Ma, after you care for Mannie, will you have time to care for me?”
“Why certainly, Sweet-one, just wait, you’ll see!”
“Gran’Ma?” Maurie asked, just about to drift off to sleep, “Do you thank God for Mannie, and me too?”
“Absolutely Maurie, I really really do!”

About the Author
Maurie’s Lullaby for Mannie” is Roslyn’s 1st book. Inspiration for the story came first from warm childhood memories of wholesome fellowship with her family, and secondly from the curiosity of her oldest son while pregnant with her youngest son. Roslyn was born and raised in St. Louis, MO, where she currently lives with her husband, Byron Henderson, the funniest man alive. Her passions are listening to gospel and folk-rock music, beholding God’s creation, and browsing gift shops.
