It’s All About the Glory

CHAPTER 1
We are made for glory.

Why? Why is it? We cannot figure out our behavior. I don’t know why I said that? What set me off? I don’t know why I did that? Don’t know why we cannot work together? What stirred me up?
We are living in a culture of attack. You could find yourself navigating through a mine field in so many domains of life. Jealousy and hate serves as the surface reaction to something much deeper. Deep down we struggle to figure out, what is this really about. We ponder, grieve, deny, and agonize over our thoughts and behavior. What is this really about? Well, it’s all about the glory.
This is not about not confronting. We will need to and should confront, counsel, and constructively criticize matters concerning faults, weaknesses, shortcomings, bad behavior, and wrongs etc. We need to confront these matters for the right reasons and in the right way. The Bible admonishes us to speak the truth in love. Ephesians 4:15 KJV
So glory is the why of our situations and conflicts. It is the motive of our aspiration. It is the motive of our conflict. When we extend our perspective, it comes to reveal and identify its deep rooted motivation. This moves us pass the surface reactions of jealousy and hating and gets us where we need to be to deal with the root cause.
We see each other as a threat. We are pitted against each other. We talk against each other with hurtful and negative comments. We find betrayal instead of support. Our need for glory has a dominant influence that could undermine our values, violate our own conscious, and our standard of right. It blows off the “Golden Rule”. When we are caught in the complexity of its grip, we create victims from without and within.
The truth is we were made for glory. It is an innate part of our nature and essence. Prominence, importance, power, wealth, notoriety, honor, greatness, fame, and so on ascribes to glory. But it can be whatever scale and how you see it within your own circles. We thrive on glory and it energizes and compels us. Glory is the fuel of our accomplishments. It drives our dreams and purpose. Man was made in God’s image to reflect God’s glory.

Genesis 1:26-28 NKJV
26 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all[a] the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” 27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. 28 Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.
