About the Author

Dan Wheeler: “Well my name is Dan Wheeler and I've spent over 40 years working in television and radio.

The last 29 years I’ve been a host on QVC, and had the opportunity to meet every childhood hero I’ve ever met. The likes of Joe DiMaggio, Mickey Mantle, Bob Hope, Charlton Heston, many great musicians like Willie Nelson and Martina McBride and others, so I’ve traveled the world and I’ve had a really great life. It’s been an exciting ride.

The Calling to Write Hurricane of Love

I wrote the book Hurricane of Love because I wanted people to know who my late wife, Beth Wheeler, was and the way that she faced death so courageously and so fearlessly. She had such an impact on people. When she left a hospital, the nurses, and the nursing assistants and the doctors would literally line the halls to hug her and they cried as they said goodbye to her.

The Finding of WestBow Press

Well I made a call to Westbow Press after looking at many websites and talking to other publishers and I realized I was probably going to be better off doing self-publishing since I wasn’t a well-known author and I talked to a woman named Deanna George and Deanna had so much care in her voice. She seemed like she didn’t care about me just as a customer or client but she cared about my story and she felt it needed to be told and Deanna has been there with me throughout my journey and so has everyone at Westbow Press.

I feel like I’ve had this great team who walked me through the publishing process, step-by-step, and I couldn’t be more thrilled with the way that my book Hurricane of Love, my journey with Beth Wheeler, turned out. I’m holding a copy and I hold it with a lot of pride. They did a great job.

The Fulfilling Moment

When the book came in the mail the first time I looked at the copy I just stared at it and I began to cry and I got down on my knees and I just kind of held it up and I said, ‘God I hope you’re pleased and Beth I hope I did you justice.’ So it was very emotional but very rewarding.”
