Congratulations to our #Wow2Win Twitter Contest Winners

In celebration of the release of Michael Hyatt’s new book Platform: Get Noticed in a Noisy World, we at WestBow Press challenged writers and authors everywhere to really think about their strategy for building an audience and amplifying their unique voice.

Congratulations to our Grand-Prize winner: Steve Gillis

Steve will receive a one-hour Skype or in-person consultation with Michael Hyatt. The platform guru can share book-marketing strategies and give Steve personalized advice.

Steve's pitch:

What if every church in every community cared for every orphan?  In Patch Our Planet - How Your Church Can Help End the Orphan Epidemic, you will find practical steps to make that vision a reality.  Church leaders and orphan advocates are equipped with a strategy that is flexible enough to fit every church's vision. Whether you want to help foster children in your community or orphans somewhere around the planet, the Church is the answer.  The time is now for the Church to answer that faint cry that we have collectively ignored for far too long.  We now have a road map to guide us to victory in this epic tragedy.

Congratulations to our 1st-Place winner: Zach Sewell

Zach will receive a Bookstore Advantage Publishing Package from WestBow Press, which includes upper-level publishing tools.

Zach's pitch:

I have written a book called Prisoners in the Bible. Each chapter explores the life of a different person in the Bible who was in prison. My goal is that the book will encourage current inmates by showing them how God has worked through the situation of imprisonment many times before. In the Bible, God uses the prison situations of both good and bad people to accomplish significant tasks. Prison stories in the Bible show that prison does not have to be the end of the road for inmates. God works in a unique way for each prisoner.

Start with the WOW

In Platform, Michael Hyatt — Chairman of Thomas Nelson Publishers, professional speaker, and creator of his successful blog, Intentional Leadership — says the key to getting noticed is to “start with the wow.” Before you can effectively build a following and start selling books, you’ve got to have a compelling, meaningful message that’s worthy of peoples’ time and attention.

For our Wow2Win Twitter Contest, we invited you to tell us what’s wow-worthy about your book or message. The writer with the most wow won a one-on-one platform-building and book-marketing consultation with Michael Hyatt himself.
