Beforehand
Before I formed you in the womb I knew you.

Esther’s story truly begins when Queen Vashti decides in her heart that she doesn’t honor King Ahasuerus. Queen Vashti’s disobedience doesn’t occur just at the moment she refuses to come before the king; Queen Vashti’s heart was changed toward her husband long time before that incident. The word tells us that what is in our heart will flow out of our mouth. At some point, she lost respect for her husband, and she lacked the understanding of her influence. She lacked a humble heart before God. God needed someone who would respond to His commands. Because of Vashti’s heart, she couldn’t stand in the gap for the people of God. She didn’t fit the part because she didn’t know her true identity. She held the role of queen, but lacked the position. When we fully understand our purpose, we can operate fully in our positions. What God has called you to is beyond a role and a title. It’s your purpose and position that are designed to impact the world.
Vashti’s story isn’t like most others in the Bible. Her story begins and ends within the first chapter. Esther’s purpose starts way before she steps into the king’s palace, as soon as God thinks about Esther being conceived in her mother’s womb. He already knows she will be queen. God plants a love for Him and a desire to live for Him in her heart. Mordecai ensures she has a sound foundation in her faith. God helps Esther with the grief of not having parents. She goes through a process prior to becoming queen; every aspect of her life is a preparation for her purpose. God knows that an enemy will rise up against His people and He needs a woman who has a heart created to worship and obey Him. Because of her obedience to God, she will respect and submit to her husband, the king.
She gains access to the king’s heart because of her pure heart for God. In order for you to arise into your purpose, you have to understand that God placed a purpose inside of you beforehand. God has been preparing you for this moment. He will use everything in your life for His glory. Your purpose is never just about you; it’s about the people who need to know that God loves them too.
There are issues, problems, and tragedies are occurring all around us. God has a specific purpose for you: to cause transformation in people around you. He has called each of us to change the world as we know it today. You are not here on this earth to just exist; you are here to respond to the outcry of a specific group of people who have been waiting to see God. God is calling you to be His express image on the earth.

Lora Williams is a mother of two beautiful girls. The wife of Cedric Williams who is her earthly hero and greatest earthly supporter.
She is a nurse, public speaker, mentor, and philanthropist. She is passionate about helping people from all walks of life. From developing, and overseeing programs that empower people; to traveling to Africa to ensure that families have their needs met by ensuring that there are no barriers to education; to investing in the access of clean water. Lora currently holds a degree in theology from Life Christian University, and is a licensed nurse.
