The sixty poems showcased in Windows of My Mind – Sixty Poetic Expressions represent a kaleidoscopic selection of contemplative thoughts and experiential deliberations, accruing in the main to the multi-faceted, sometimes complex persona of an individual who considers himself a writer, poet, artist, photographer and cruciverbalist. The fact that my vocational pursuits fall within the precincts of accountancy, finance, banking and income taxation, and have had for many years, serves further to engender a bewildering portrait of one given to a multitude of apparently contradicting proclivities.
Some of the poems in Windows of My Mind – Sixty Poetic Expressions were composed as far back as the 1970’s when I lived in Guyana on the South American continent. These early poems capture the roller-coaster experiences of a young man struggling through his formative years in a third world country in an environment that somehow accommodated an assimilation of multiple races, creeds and cultures. Guyana (previously British Guiana) is still known as “The Land of Six Races.”
A few of the poems assume a distinctively religious overtone. This is understandable since I am a committed Christian. The Non-Christian reader should not take offence, however, as such poems are primarily devotional and do not impugn other religious and/or philosophical worldviews. This notwithstanding, I ask forgiveness for any implied impertinence or disrespect.
I endeavored to supplement the poetic expressions with photographs and pictures I felt would enhance one’s reading pleasure in one way or another. A majority of the photographs and pictures were created by enthusiasts from around the world and compiled on a website. The owners of the website generously allowed me to use the work of these gifted men and women – free of charge and without any encumbrance. Other photographs reflect the work of the author and his sons.
I ask you to read my work objectively. Perchance you might discover a poem or two that seize your fancy. Should this happen, then my work would not have been in vain.

About the Book
The poems in Windows of My Mind: Sixty Poetic Expressions assume styles mainly in free verse and rhyming scheme formats. Further, those that rhyme exhibit a variety of rhyming positions within poems. A few of the poems (i.e., “The Tortoise & The Hare,” “The Old Woman With One Eye,” “Once In Eden,” and “Nine Eleven—2001”) may be termed mini epics with rhyming schemes. A few poems, such as “Israel—Chosen of God” and “For My Name’s Sake” are unusual hybrid types, with quotations at the beginning of each verse followed by lines that rhyme. The poems touch upon a multitude of themes (e.g., various emotional states such as love, hatred, reminiscence, compassion, loneliness, joy, success, and topics such as nature, history, spirituality, marriage, family, oppression, and inequality, among others). The poems are of varying lengths.
About the Author
WINDOWS OF MY MIND: SIXTY POETIC EXPRESSIONS is Christopher Hugh Kawal Persaud’s first full length book of poetry. The selections contained in WINDOWS OF MY MIND: SIXTY POETIC EXPRESSIONS represent the poet’s work over many years, with some of them dating back to the nineteen seventies when he lived in Guyana (formerly British Guiana) on the coastline of the South American continent. Persaud’s poems encompass a myriad of topics and covers writings about joy, loneliness, tragedy, success, failure, death, life, philosophy, religion, family and eternity, among other themes. Persaud, in addition to being a poet, is a Christian Apologetics writer and has published seven (7) full length books to date. Four of Christopher’s books have won a total of nine international awards. Among the award-winning books are (a) Evolution: Beyond the Realm of Real Science (Xulon Press, USA, 2008, revised 2013); (b) The Da Vinci Code Revisited: A Conclusive Refutation of the Widespread, Sinister Lie (Xlibris Corporation, USA, 2010, revised 2013); Contending for the Faith: Twenty-Two Methodical Arguments for Biblical Truth (Xlibris Corporation, USA, 2014) and Blessings, Miracles & Supernatural Experiences: A Biblical Perspective, A Christian’s Story (Xlibris Corporation, USA, 2015). Vocationally, Christopher is an accounting and financial services professional. He has been engaged in the forgoing fields for over forty years. Christopher lives New Jersey, USA. He is married and with his wife Pamela, has three sons.
