Having the promises of God and making it a reality in one’s life is like a woman taking seed and giving birth to that seed. There are certain things that should be done to keep the conception and bring it forth at the appropriate time. Within this period, that’s between the time of conception and delivery, anything can happen, either intentionally or unintentionally. If proper care is not taken or if the right measures are not taken, there could be a miscarriage along the way. And also the woman herself can decide to abort the pregnancy if she doesn’t want to keep it.
The Word of God, or let me say the promise of God doesn’t lie or disappoint. They’re for real. However, most people have not been experiencing the reality of God’s promises in their lives due to their actions and inactions. They’ve failed to enjoy life as it’s meant for them, and have either aborted the promises of God for their lives or have experienced miscarriage due to their inappropriate attitudes and approach towards the promises. God has given us His promises that will cause us to become great and glorious in life but the responsibility of making them a reality lies in our hands. If we don’t take the proper measures to make them manifest in our lives, the promises will lie there waiting to see fulfillment which will never work. Or, in other words, because we don’t work toward making them real in our lives, we’ll be longing to see them becoming real in our lives but we’ll just be dreaming.

Dr. Joe Osei Kodie is the general overseer of Gates of Heaven Ministries International and the president of Gates of Heaven Theological Institute in New York. He is a great evangelist and a Bible teacher who teaches the Word of God with great passion and insight. As a president of the Bible Institute, he also serves as a professor of biblical and theological studies.
