Jonah was taken aback when the donkey looked right into Jonah’s eyes and what seemed to Jonah; read his mind! “This is too much!” Jonah thought. “I must have hit my head again!” shaking his head, as if that would restore some sense into him.
The donkey lying next to him peered even deeper into Jonah’s eyes. Jonah closed his eyes and shook his head again. “Yes, Jonah, I know. Now! How long are you going to sit there with your mouth gapping like what’s left of your drawers are full? We have a journey ahead of us, boy!” Came a voice as smooth as butter from the she donkey. “My name is Stella and I am here to accompany you on the rest of your journey, until I am needed elsewhere.” “Huh!?” was all Jonah could muster. He didn’t know if he was dreaming or was suffering from oxygen deprivation, so he stood up. Then Stella stood up. Jonah’s mouth was still gapping, looking with wide terrified eyes, when Stella gave an inviting jerk of her head. “Come on Jonah, hop on. The trip will be easier for you, if you ride and the Good LORD knows you have put yourself through a lot already.”

About the Author
Benjamen’s nana—Sherry L. Basler—was born in St. Louis, Missouri, in 1969 and raised in a rural community. The proud mother of four awesome children and wife to Scott Basler, she is nana to five wonderful grandchildren, with one on the way at the time of publication. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in early elementary education from Williams Baptist College in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas. She lives in Texas with her husband and youngest son.
Benjamen’s nana prays she will help fill voids in people’s lives in order to point them to Jesus in a fun, humorous, and honest way.
Emmily Starman was born in Nebraska and grew up all around the US. She developed a passion for art at a young age, learning to use all types of media. A few years after graduation, Emmily ended up back in Nebraska where she met her now husband. The couple now live in a small Nebraska town with their Husky, Roxy.
