What Mother Said, What Mother Meant

Outside of thinking my mother was amongst the craziest people on earth growing up, I was often left confused by what she said (your best friend is your worse enemy?) Mother really? But I didn’t ask, I simply placed it in my memory bank. One day, I realized mother wasn’t crazy after all. The worse enemy you can ever have on earth is one who used to be a friend. One with whom you have shared many of your secrets with. I’m sure you can relate. For years I contemplated putting them in book form. I wrote them down, lost them then got them back. I prayed and asked God what to do? And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it Habakkuk 2:2 (KJV) So what you have here are a few quotes that my mother said when I was growing up, along with many I learned from others as I ventured outside my home, and outside the Caribbean Sea. I’ve met many on this journey of life, and those I hold dearest in my heart have taught me a lot by their wise old sayings. I’m sure you will hear your mother, grandmother, aunt or some person coming through the pages. It’s my prayer that if it’s just one thing from this book you learn, then it was worth it all.
