A trail I ride on bike or steed, either way ‘tis thrilling to me. Quick turns on knobby tires, banking hard to keep right from the perilous cliff on my left. I wish not to fall out of sight.
Over fallen trees, Touching Fire steps ever so carefully. Forward she goes beneath green, quivering leaves. Twisting and turning until the north pasture we come, after crossed, still the journey is not complete, ‘till high on a Black Chapel hill we stand, between headstones and fence overlooking fields, steeples and beyond, to dream. Now return from whence we came.
I cross a field to trek a stream, with boots pulled high, keeping my toes dry. A sharp eye kept toward the ground, looking for unusual prints worthy of casting. As I walk I pray. There are needs for others, and desires as well, to lie before God on the altar within my soul.
A camera hangs ‘round my neck, capturing beautiful things to suspend in time. Through all my scribblings and shots taken, I see His spoken words in perfect place and space.
When disease tells me I can’t, it is told by faith, and just you wait and see, for it is Christ alone marks my pace.

About the Author
Alicia Jaye Phillips is a writer and photographer.
She is actively involved in her church and community, often assisting in charity endeavors such as Operation Christmas Child and Backpacks to the Rescue. She is also the coordinator of a national prayer group, the Breaking Force Prayer Squadron.
She's been a longtime advocate of animal rescue and protection. She and her husband, Greg, are parents to two rescued horses, Touching Fire (an American quarter horse) and Little Star (an Arabian), as well as a special-needs kitty named Rain.
As an avid mountain biker, she founded the Wabash Pack, a mountain bikers' cycling group, based in the Wabash River Valley, in 2011.
She's a native Kentuckian living in southwestern Indiana, not far from the small farm she grew up on. Being an outdoor enthusiast strongly influences her photography, which is available on her company website, Sibling Synergy, at flashnee.com.
