Joseph was hated by his brothers because the favor of God was upon his life. They were so jealous of him that they even plotted to kill him but instead they threw him into a pit and later sold him into slavery. Joseph also spent thirteen years in prison for something that he didn’t do. As you can see he didn’t have it very easy in life but, through it all the favor of God was upon everything that Joseph set his hand to do. The devil meant it all for evil, but God turned it all around to work out for his good. Romans 8:28 “ And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose” You may feel like every time you overcome a test or trial you are faced with something else to set you back. I want to encourage you to stand on the promises of God and keep your eyes on the prize which is eternal life and fight with purpose.

You may be down today, but your victory is on the way. If God be for you, who can be against you? David faced a giant, Daniel slept with lions, the three Hebrew boys were thrown into the fire, and Jesus hung on the cross, but they all had something in common: they didn’t give up; they fought with purpose.

Carvel Collins is the Bishop of Word of Light Christian Fellowship Church. Married to the love of his life, Theresa Collins, for thirty-three years, he is the father of four wonderful children and a precious granddaughter named Kamyra. He loves God and His people.
