I see Jesus waiting to rise from the grave.

To a world filled with darkness, to a people lost in sin, He came to show us the way to life.

When I am feeling lonely, sometimes I go and just watch the sun setting, taking in the lasting beauty of Gods' canvas. With the last traces of sunlight left, I think about when I read in the Bible how distressed our Savior was before his crucifixion. With tears in my eyes, I return home and thank God for loving us so much that He gave His only begotten son to die for our sins. I am amazed that the one thief, also being put to death at that time, spending his last moments with Christ, was forgiven his sins before he took his last breath.

The darkness of sin is shown in the dark clouds, reminding me of the thief on the cross who, would not accept Jesus before he died. While the thief on the other cross believed in Jesus, the Light of the world; the one who loved us enough to give His all and to suffer for our sins hanging on the cross in the middle. The difference between good and evil, light and dark. The sunset is the ending of life and the choice we have made.
