5-year Illness Leads to Book of Hope
Jan. 18, 2012 – Mary Rose Takacs was bitten by a tick and stricken with an acute and advanced case of Lyme disease at the age of 9. The disease lasted for years and threatened to kill her. Takacs, now 23 and healthy, wrote about the disease with her mother. Their book, Hope in the Midst, was written to encourage and inspire.
“When you hit those points in life, you say, ‘I have no control here. My best is not good enough.’ That’s when you turn to your faith,” says Mary Rose’s mother, Marianne Takacs.
