WestBow Press author wins bench press world championship

July 19, 2010 - Most recent college grads begin their post school life with some time off, but that wasn’t the case with WestBow Press author Devan Doan.  While most of her peers were enjoying a few weeks of new found freedom, Devan was busy training her way to a gold medal at the International Power lifting Federation’s Open Bench Press World Championships.

Since graduation from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, Devan has secured a job as a registered nurse, published a book, and won the gold for her country as the youngest competitor on the U.S. women’s team – not bad at 22.

In her book, Dream Big! Journey from a Childhood Dream to Reality, Doan tells the story of her struggles, successes and lessons learned from power lifting.
